| Healthy Hemp Seed (Nut) Butter Recipe

  Ingredients
| 3 cups |
| Hemp Seeds, raw unshelled |
| 1/2 cup |
| Apple Sauce |
|
| Creamed Honey or Regular Honey, to taste |
| 1 tsp |
| Cinnamon, optional |
|

  Directions
- In a food processor, grind hemp seeds according to Manufacturer's directions. My food processor is small and inexpensive so I grind 1 cup maximum at a time.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend grinded hemp seeds/nuts with the apple sauce.
- If you are using honey, add a spoonful at a time and then taste the hemp seed butter. Add more to taste.
- Add the cinnamon, if desired. Mix well.
- Refrigerate immediately in an airtight container. Recommendations: Spread on healthy whole grain bread and top with all-fruit jam or substitute hemp seed butter for peanut butter for a hemp seed butter and banana sandwich.
- Notes: Hemp Seeds are a rich source of nutrients. They contain all nine essential amino acids and are a great source of protein, containing up to 35% protein. But because of the high nutritional benefits, hemp seeds can spoil faster than other seeds or nuts. Make sure they are stored properly and never cooked beyond 325F. They taste great raw so that's how I eat them for most things.
