Ingredients
1/4 cup
Balsamic Vinegar
2 Tbsp
Mustard, preferably a seedy variety
1/2 tsp
Basil
1/2 tsp
Oregano
4-5 cloves
Minced Garlic or Garlic Powder (1 tsp)
1/2 tsp
Sea Salt
Pinch
Pepper
1/3 to 1/2 cup
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, preferably cold pressed
|
|
|
|
  Directions
- Put all ingredients into a bowl except extra virgin olive oil. Whisk together.
- Slowly pour the extra virgin olive oil into the balsamic mixture while whisking rapidly enough to emulsify.
- Taste the vinaigrette after you've whisked in 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil. If it tastes sour, keep adding the olive oil until it doesn't
- Keep in the fridge for up to a week. A couple minutes before serving, remove the balsamic vinaigrette from the fridge and whisk it up again.
- Tip: If you can, splurge on getting a high quality extra virgin olive oil and/or balsamic vinegar. It significantly improves the taste of salad dressing. For balsamic vinegar, the higher the quality, the sweeter the taste so I end up using less olive oil.
