| Healthy Italian Prune Crisp Recipe
|
| |
  Ingredients
| 8-10 cups |
| Italian Prunes, washed, pitted and quartered |
| 2 Tbsp |
| Honey |
| 1 1/2 cups |
| Rolled Oats |
| 1/3 cup |
| Whole Wheat Flour (or another whole grain flour) |
| 3/4 cup |
| Brown Sugar |
| 1/3 cup |
| Butter or olive oil |
| 1/2 tsp |
| Sea Salt |
|
|
|
|
  Directions
- Toss the prunes in the honey (melted). Add the mixture to the bottom of a glass casserole dish.
- If you're using butter, it must be at room temperature. It tends to work better for crisps but I have also used olive oil before with good results. You will want to closely monitor the crisp during the cooking process though because olive oil burns faster.
- Mix the brown sugar, rolled oats, whole wheat flour and salt together. Mix in the butter or oil (or combination of both) into the dry ingredients with your hands until a bread crumb like consistency has been reached.
- Spread the crisp evenly on top of the prunes.

Baking Instructions
Bake at 375F for 30-40 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center easily goes through the cooked fruit.
